Hugh Jackman Reprises Iconic Role Alongside Ryan Reynolds
Marvel Studios has released the second trailer for its highly anticipated "Deadpool and Wolverine" film, the third installment in the "Deadpool" series and the first to feature Wolverine. The film, directed by Shawn Levy, stars Ryan Reynolds as the titular Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Logan/Wolverine.
The trailer opens with Wolverine recovering from his injuries in "Logan" when he crosses paths with the loudmouth Deadpool. The unlikely duo team up to defeat a common enemy, played by Emma Corrin. The film also stars Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Deadpool's love interest.
"Deadpool and Wolverine" marks the first time Jackman has played Wolverine since "Logan" in 2017. The actor previously portrayed the character in nine "X-Men" films. Reynolds has played Deadpool in two previous films, "Deadpool" (2016) and "Deadpool 2" (2018).
The film is set to hit theaters on July 26, 2024. It is the first R-rated film from Marvel Studios, which is known for its family-friendly superhero movies.
In a recent interview, Reynolds said the film is "a chance for audiences to see two marquee characters together, a pairing that fans have been clamoring for." Jackman added, "It's been a lot of fun working with Ryan again. We have a great chemistry on screen."
